The Police Command in Kebbi State has been thrown into mourning over alleged brutal murder of SP Haliru Liman, the Divisional Officer of Wasagu division by a military officer attached to OPHD sector 6 Dan Marke area Bukuyyum Zamfara State.
SP Liman, was on his way to Birnin Kebbi on August, the 24th,2024, to attend a conference but he was stopped by a military officer who asked him to identify himself, shortly after he identified himself the military officer pointed his gun at him and shot him on the forehead which resulted in his instant death.
Kebbi Police Command who condemned the unprovoked brutal murder of the DPO called on authorities concerned to investigate the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate incident even as they described the murder as unacceptable and unwarranted.
The Command’s image maker, SP Nafiu Abubakar, in a statement on Thursday, decried near dead inter agency collaboration and harmonious working relationship ” the Police least expected this from the military who were professionally trained to work with other security agencies in the country would engage in unprovoked murder of a senior Police officer “.
The statement, however, didn’t indicate whether the military officer has been arrested but gave assurance to the deceased families that justice will be done, ASP Yazid Abubakar, the image maker, Zamfara Police Command consoled the deceased families and pledged to get to the root of the matter.
