The One Kano Agenda expresses deep concern over the recent unrest in Rano Local Government Area of Kano State. The rising tension and reported incidents of conflict are worrisome and call for immediate and peaceful intervention by all responsible stakeholders.
At the heart of every stable society is the rule of law, and at the frontlines of that law are our police officers. The Nigeria Police Force plays a crucial role in protecting lives and property, maintaining order, and ensuring justice. We therefore call on the police to rise to this challenge with professionalism, neutrality, and respect for human rights.
We acknowledge the efforts of law enforcement agencies already on ground, and we encourage them to continue to act with discipline, fairness, and a deep sense of responsibility. Heavy handedness, bias, or inaction can only escalate the situation. What the people of Rano need now is security that is firm but just.

One Kano Agenda makes the following appeal:
1. To the Police: Uphold your constitutional duty with professionalism. Protect all citizens equally and ensure that peace returns to Rano without abuse or favoritism.
2. To the People of Rano: Remain calm, avoid mob actions, and report issues to the appropriate authorities.
3. To the Kano State Government: Act swiftly to mediate tensions and set up conflict resolution mechanisms that include all stakeholders.
4. To Traditional and Religious Leaders: Use your influence to preach peace, unity, and understanding in this critical moment.
Let us not forget: the peace of Rano is the peace of Kano. We must all work together to prevent the situation from deteriorating further and that our strength as a state lies in our unity. What affects one local government affects us all. One Kano is not just a slogan, it is a commitment to peace, equity, and shared progress.
