The Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Saidu Yahaya, has resigned his appointment.
It was gathered that Yahaya submitted his resignation letter on Tuesday.
Yahaya’s resignation followed mounting pressure from the Kano State Government over his alleged failure to perform to expectations.
He was appointed chairman of the PCACC in August 2025, following the expiration of the tenure of the former chairman, Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado.
He was approved by the Kano State House of Assembly for a five-year tenure.
Recalls that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had recently publicly criticised the chairman over what he described as non-performance as the head of the anti-graft agency.
The commission’s Legal Secretary, Hafsat Kutama, is expected to assume the acting Chairman of the commission from today , Wednesday.
